Conference programme

"Civil Society in 2010" is a joint conference of Austrian and East Central European NGOs under the patronage of the CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation and the CIVICUS European Regional Office (Budapest). The conference offers a current status quo about the development and perspectives of organised civil society in Europe and especially discusses the needs for democracy and democratisation, with a look towards the future EU member countries and planned procedures of the European Union Institutions.

The conference "Civil society in 2010" shall act as a continuative event in regard of civil society cooperation in the extended European Union:

1.An opportunity for discussion and creation of a common terminology for the third sector by means of: workshops, mailing-lists, virtual discussion fora. All participants are inviteted to use these opportunities for discussion.

2.A databank is going to gather and integrate all organizations interested in the process of European integration in the canditate countries.

We are looking forward to your participation:

  • to establish communication and discussion about current issues and topics
  • to create an all-embracing network of civil society
  • to foster cooperation
