The CIVICUS World Assembly is one of the largest and most important
civil society gatherings in the world will be held in Glasgow, Scotland
on 21-25 June, 2006. The event organised under the common theme "Acting
Together for a Just World" will bring together several hundred civil
society leaders, government representatives, experts and researchers who
will interact and share lessons with each other to face challenges that
global civil society must face.

Participants of this satellite event will be briefed by Mr Ruchir Shah
of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the host of
the CIVICUS World Assembly. Is there a European message to the CIVICUS
World Assembly? How can social, economic, political and civic justice be
achieved? How to bring the European civil society experience to Glasgow?
These are some of the questions to be addressed with the assistance of
Ms Christiana Weidel, Chair and Mr Miklos Barabas, Director of CIVICUS
in Europe.

Please join us and be part of what promises to be an exciting
intellectual civil society encounter in Europe and beyond.

During the event sandwiches, salads and refreshments will be served.
